Man, are we looking forward to the 4th of July!!!!!
The kids have made it one of my favorite holidays. Sams sells fireworks here and we bought a big variety packof them. This is our first year to buy really big ones and the kids can't wait. We have them in the laundry room ( Greg says they should to be stored away from humidity) and they go out there and stare at the pictures of the fireworks on the package. (Like that is anything close to accurate...not!) and Levi came in and said, "Hey Marmee, did you know that some of the fireworks have glow in the dark fuses?" How awesome is that? Of course, I could probably ask him about any of the fireworks and he could tell my the name of it and what it is supposed to do!
We will tie dye shirts again this year, I guess it is tradition now. In this family, it really only takes one time of anything to make a tradition, but I like this one. The big girls really take care of everything and when you do the dying it is like Christmas when you undo it all, because they all turn out differently. I am going to try to get Greg in on it this year, he really needs a tie dye shirt...LOL Anyway, I think it is the only holiday that we have where we have something tangible to take away from the day. Something that we can touch and feel the fun and wonderfulness of the day and being together and making memories! So, the countdown is on here at the Thornton household. Hang on to your hats!

Gosh!!!!! Wish I didn't already have plans, I'd love to be part of a tye-dye party. I haven't done that since Home Ec my Freshman year of high school. And we KNOW how long ago that was!!!!! And the fireworks.....aren't children awesome? Thankfully, we will have Emma Belle here again this year for the Corvette Museum fireworks. She is so much fun to watch. More so than the fireworks. :)
I could use a tye-died shirt. I'd like to join in on the fun. Seem I remember this "tradition" started when I was somewhere in Roatan :)
I love our traditions! Thanks for always making sure its special for all of us.
HI, It's really great you sharing and making memories of family times. That's one of the grestest things a child can take with them through life! I remember Hodiday's and Christmas at my grandma's and how exciting those times were for me. I will never forget them as long as I live. Hope your Holiday was a BIG BANG! Hugsxx
