Almost there!
Well, the moment you have all been waiting for has arrived. Pictures....yep, pictures of what all this fuss has been about. Of course, this little remodel is still a work in progress, but I am happy to report that we have put the first coat of paint on the bedroom!
This picture shows the opening Danny aka "son of Hercules" cut into the side of the old garage to put the patio door into. Danny is standing in the new closet and through the closet is the bathroom.
Here is the closet...Greg's is on the left and mine is on the right. Paul is going to put the shelving in when he comes back....and we are counting the days, little brother!! wink...I just love the way we set this up, when you walk into the closets and turn around toward the room, there will be shelving to house all the folding clothes and shoes...awesome, huh??
This is the view of the bathroom from my closet, the vanity on this side is Gregs. I overpainted the cabinets in here last night with black, and I must say how awesome it looks. I just love it. The mirrors are black and it will go so well with it all. I am painting it a light green in here, which will really make the black stuff "pop" as my dear friend Maria says.
Here is the other side of the bathroom. This is a steam shower, one of life's little luxuries that I hope never to be without again. My husband is the generator installer and of course, Paul and Danny are the miracle workers. What a combination. We got this shower and the Anderson patio door in my new bedroom at the Habitat for Humanity Restore. What a big blessing, let me tell you!
We bought the door for 100.00 and we found out when we went to get a door knob that the door was at least 1800.00 new! Wow, so the funny part is, the knob will end up costing us more than the door. Wait, that isn't so funny, now that I think about it.
So, I will be posting the efforts of our weekend's work soon. Greg and Ashley and I put the first coat of paint on and Aubrey provided the encouragement and kept the dog out of the paint tray. Thank you Aubrey. The three of us commented on how much fun it was to do it together. I just love family, makes it so awesome to be alive. The littles have been so much help.
I finished Mallory's pinwheel sweater last night as we watched Tiger win at the Bridgestone Invitational. That was so sweet!! All I have left to do is weave in the yarn tails. Now on to the tomten for Kelsey.
