Wow, seems like alot has happened lately! I finished Kelsey's Tomten jacket, here it is in all it's glory. I added a tassel, which she adores!
We went to watch Daddy bowl for the first time last night! He was on a roll, lol, and it was a lot of fun to watch him. The littles had all brought something from home to do....except for Levi, which turned out alright, because I let them all have 50 cents to get something out of the vending machines...(a first for my clan!) and he got a parachute guy, and that kept the boys busy all night. The girls chose this disgusting snotty feeling ring stretchy thing, that if their Marmee would have been with them.....well, just let it be known that Sissy is totally responsible, and just let me say one more time...eewwwww, gross! Well, to be perfectly fair, Mackenzie got a ring, because in her words "I wanted something that would last"....sensible girl. Aubrey was able to join us for a while, and we saw this guy there that looked so much like Anthony, her boyfriend in Australia. We spent a good bit of time trying to get a picture of him, without him knowing...lol...that was fun.
So, anyway, here is a sneak peek at our night out.
Now, I just wanted to post a picture of the before and after of my kitchen. Mostly for myself, to see what I have accomplished in a year. So, here is a picture of the house on our last run-through, before we had purchased it:
We took that wall out that you see on the left, which was a laundry room, and put the stove in there, turned and revamped the island, took out the sink and stove top and added tile and slate with a hole to a trash can underneath (awesome, huh?) and we put tile on the countertops, stripped the wallpaper and put bead board on the walls, which we antiqued, took out the appliance garage on the left of the sink, to make way for the dirty dishes we have after meals, which just wouldn't fit before. We took out the desk and cabinets that you can't see that are to the left of the island and put 5 shelves that hold my dishes and pots and bowls, hung 2 ceiling fans,oh yeah, and we did a ceiling treatment, put up 2 beams, one out of my dad's old barn, and pulled up the stuff on the floor and stained and polyeurethaned the floor. My gosh, this makes me need another cup of coffee just to write this, LOL.
So, having said all that, here is a picture I took yesterday. And I wanted to say thank you to all who made this kitchen possible, Maria and Dennis, Paul, Danny, Dad, Ashley, and my husband Greg.
